Take home a rescue dog
Always adopt, never buy
If you and your family decide to bring a new pet into your family, consider adoption of one (or two). Don’t shop for one at a pet store. If you adopt from a rescue you can save a shelter animal from death and the money you spent for adoption won’t be used to support the dog population explosion. The pet stores main goal is to make money so animals are often treated as just another “item” to sell.

People who have dogs live longer lives, and the assumption has been that dogs naturally create their owners to be more active. The emotional benefits of having dogs are also one of the theories for why dog lovers live longer lives.
Five Reasons To Adopt A Rescue Dog
1. You Will Save A Life!
Adopting a rescues shelter animal will save that dog’s life. With so many homeless dogs, each one has a good chance of being killed or facing the rest of their life in a cage.
2. The Cost Of Rescue Is Less.
Most rescues charge an adoption fee around $120. This is nothing compared to what you could pay for a dog from a breeder, which could cost more than $1,000, depending on the breed.
3. No Supporting Of Puppy Mills!
You never know what conditions a pet store dog was raised in, which means you may be supporting puppy mills. When you adopt, you’re putting one less sale into the pockets of irresponsible breeders.
4. You Encourage Others To Rescue!
When your friends ask where you got the perfect pet, you can tell them “from my local rescue” Your adoption may encourage others to do the same.
5. You Support Your Local Community Rescue!
Sadly, every community in America has animal shelters. When you adopt a pet from our rescue, you assist in our not-for-profit organization, but also send a message to others who will be asking you for years to come where you obtained your perfect pet.
